ПревНарин is a translation set of tools, which currently consists of ... one tool only- INI translation editor. It is nice, because it has some nice features. Those, who hate using translation editor could pay attention to items 1 and 2.
1. It can add newly added strings from the source language file into the target (translated) one at exactly the same place as in the source file.
2. In can create vocabulary files from existing translations, allowing to autotranslate some common strings and to migrate easily from older to newer versions of translation files.
3. Vocabulary files are in plain text format, so they can be edited easily.
4.Auxiliary files are supported, which can be used for extra translation hints/ references.
5. Recent sets of translations are stored, so users do not have to select manually all files (source, translation, auxiliary). Nice, easy and does not waste time for creating project and etc. pest stuff.
6. No settings are stored in the Windows registry, so the application is practically porttable. No administrator, superuser, etc. rights are required.
8. Several charsets are supported (ANSI, UTF-8, UTF-16BE, UTF-32LE, UTF-32BE).
9. Search feature can ignore selectable characters, so if opted, searching „File“ will find „&File“ and „_File“, too.
10. If opted things like %s, %n, etc. are open in the edit field as %1, %2, etc. This is a great convenience for translations in language with non-latin aphabeths.
11. IniPrev can be used not only for translations, but also for comparing files with settings/ configurations, which are stored in the INI format.
12. It has no known bugs. Indeed, since it has a very limited number of users, many bugs might exist. If you find a bug, please report it here.
13. PrevNaring is written in Lazarus.
What is in the todo list for the ini editor (IniPrev):
1. Create an installer for the Windows version.
2. Add a feature to check for updates on the website.
3. Add support for PO files. Not that initially meant it, but PO support will be useful for generating vocabulary files.
